Richard J. Avdoian, MS, MSW, CSP

Richard started his career returning to his roots, working with rough, inner-city kids who had made their way into residential treatment. Richard's early education on the street plus a master's in social work was a great combination for helping these young men put their lives back on track. Richard became fascinated with the challenges that men face in maturing into responsible, caring men who could become wonderful friends, fathers and husbands. Drawing on his 22 years in private practice as a psychotherapist, Richard founded the Illinois Men's Institute and Voyager Experience to challenge and inspire individuals to achieve a healthier balance in life and work. Richard received a Bachelors and Masters degree from Niagara University of New York. He also received a Masters degree from Washington University of Missouri. He has earned the Certified Speaking Professional designation awarded by the National Speakers Association. Richard received the Voices Against Family Violence Award from The State of Illinois Twentieth Judicial Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council Area of Expertise:
